CHIMERA

You are a head floating in a petri dish. Everything you eat becomes your body: first a blob, then legs, claws, fins, spikes or a tail. Every head carries its own genome, so no two creatures grow the same way.

Swallow or be swallowed. Touch anything 25% smaller than you and it becomes part of you. Touch anything 25% bigger and it takes you. The number over every creature tells you which is which: green you can eat, red can eat you, grey is your size.

Two heads, one body. When a creature swallows another, the head inside may get a free seat. A chimera holds two heads. Both steer, and its body grows as a hybrid: one half from each genome. Every cell belongs to the head that ate it, and the patchwork colors show whose is whose.

- Heads already seated keep their seat. Any other head the chimera swallows is eaten.

- Everything the chimera swallows is split 50/50 between the two pilots, so the second head can catch up and take the lead.

- Your whole body eats, not just your head. Every crumb feeds whoever owns the cell that touched it.

Break away. Press Space to leave a chimera with every cell you own. If a bigger creature grabs you, you have a moment to hit Space and slip free.

Bite. Creatures close in size can't swallow each other. Their heads bite cells off each other's bodies instead.

Big bodies wither over time, so nothing stays on top forever.

CONTROLS

- Mouse: steer your head

- Space, E or right click: break away

- On phones: drag on the field to steer, tap Break to break away

Prototype: the other heads are bots with temperaments. Loyal ones follow their pilot, greedy ones chase food, traitors walk out with their cells. Real multiplayer is the next step.
